About the Film
Filmed over five years (2019–2024), the documentary follows Noam Shuster-Eliassi, an Israeli activist turned stand-up comedian. Raised in Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam—a rare, intentionally integrated village of Jewish and Arab citizens—Noam grew up fluent in Arabic and Hebrew, embedded in a vision of peace rooted in absolute equality.
After years working as a UN peacebuilder, she becomes disillusioned with traditional diplomacy and "coexistence" initiatives that ignore systemic inequalities. Pivoting to stand-up comedy, she crafts a one-woman show titled Coexistence, My Ass! Using sharp, multilingual satire and viral videos, she uses humor to confront political absurdity, Jewish settler extremism, and systemic oppression. The film's final act captures her navigating profound trauma and grief following the October 7 attacks and the escalating destruction in Gaza, holding onto her stance that true peace can only exist through equality rather than violence and revenge.
