Palestinian American Entrepreneur Launches Palestine Museum US

Woodbridge, CT, USA – March 16, 2018 – A new US-based museum dedicated to researching and preserving Palestinian history, as well as presenting art and individual stories from Palestinians in Palestine and in diaspora around the world today, is launched by Palestinian American businessman and entrepreneur Faisal Saleh. The first US-based Palestinian museum with permanent exhibition space, PalestineMuseum.US will hold its grand opening on April 22, 2018, in Woodbridge, CT, USA. The museum will feature historical documents, photography, film, oral histories, mixed and digital media, literary arts, public lectures, and live performances. Exhibiting artists include the New York-based, world-renowned Palestinian-American abstract painter, Samia Halaby, and Mohamed Saleh Khalil, who resides in Ramallah, serves as art director for the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, and supports developing Palestinian artists.

 “The mission of the PalestineMuseum.US is to tell the Palestinian story to a broad worldwide audience,” says Saleh, who after over 40 years of entrepreneurial undertakings is now tackling one of the most ambitious Palestinian media projects in the US. Saleh was born in El-Bireh (Ramallah), to a refugee family from the pre-1948 Palestinian village of Salameh (Jaffa). Arriving in United States in 1969 at age 17, he earned a BA in Economics (Oberlin College) and an MBA in Business Management (University of Connecticut), and he has founded several companies.

“I’m overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for this project,” says Saleh. “Our Facebook page, which has been up for just a few months, has 4,000 followers. We post in both English and Arabic, and it’s especially gratifying to see ‘likes’ and comments coming from the West Bank and Gaza. Our Instagram following is growing, too.” He is receiving proposals for exhibitions from artists, writers, and performers around the world, and he is in the process of establishing curators.

The PalestineMuseum.US is an independent nonpolitical, nonreligious, not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Connecticut. It is managed by an initial board of directors whose members are exclusively professionals of Palestinian heritage. “We are in the process of expanding the board to accomplish further geographic and professional diversity,” explains Saleh, who serves as the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the museum. He has also developed a Global Advisory Board composed of Palestinian and non-Palestinian members from various professional backgrounds. Saleh is funding the startup phase of the museum, but he hopes that other Palestinian entrepreneurs will join him as charter supporters.  Ultimately, he envisions a larger home for the museum in either New York or Washington, DC.

Un Entrepreneur Palestino-Américain Lance un Musée de la Palestine aux Etats-Unis

Woodbridge, CT, Etats-Unis - 19 juillet 2017 - Un nouveau musée vient d’ouvrir aux États-Unis. Créé par l’homme d'affaires et entrepreneur palestino-américain Faisal Saleh, ce musée a pour vocation la recherche et la conservation de l'histoire palestinienne. Il s’agit du premier musée palestinien aux États-Unis qui possède un espace d'exposition permanent. Le musée présentera des collections multimédia tirées de la richesse de photographies historiques, de films, d’histoires orales, d’objets, d’œuvres artistiques et d'autres trésors culturels palestiniens. "La mission du Musée de la Palestine.US est de raconter l'histoire palestinienne à un large public à l'échelle mondiale", affirme Saleh, qui après plus de 40 ans de travail aux Etats-Unis entreprend maintenant un des plus projets multimédias palestiniens aux États-Unis les plus ambitieux.  Saleh est né à El-Bireh (Ramallah), dans une famille de réfugiés du village palestinien de Salameh (Jaffa). Le Musée de la Palestine.US est une organisation indépendante, apolitique, areligieuse, sans but lucratif établie dans l'État du Connecticut. Il est géré par un conseil d'administration dont les membres représentent, exclusivement, les Palestiniens d’horizons divers, y compris les professionnels, les médecins, les scientifiques, les avocats et les universitaires. «Nous sommes en train d'élargir le conseil d'administration afin d'assurer une plus grande diversité géographique et professionnelle», explique Saleh qui est président du conseil d'administration et directeur exécutif du musée.

رجل أعمال فلسطیني یؤسس "متحف فلسطین.أمریكا

وودبريدج، ولاية كونيتيكت، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية - ٢١/٧/٢٠١٧ - أعلن رجل الأعمال الفلسطيني الأمريكي فيصل أحمد محمد صالح عن تأسيس متحف فلسطيني مستقل مقره الولايات المتحدة لبحث وحفظ التاريخ والتراث الفلسطيني. هذا وسيهدف المتحف الجديد إلى تقديم معارض تضم مجموعات فنية وأدبية منسقة ومتعددة الوسائط تشمل صورا وأفلاما تاريخية، مقتطفات من التاريخ الشفهي، لوحات رسم، قطعاً أثرية، وغيرها من الكنوز الثقافية الفلسطينية.    وصرح السيد صالح إن مهمة "متحف فلسطين" هي تقديم القصة الفلسطينية ليس للجمهور الأمريكي فحسب، بل لجمهور واسع في جميع أنحاء العالم. والجدير بالذكر أن مؤسس المتحف، بعد قضاء أكثر من أربعين عاماً في المشاريع الريادية، سيوجه انتباهه إلى معالجة مشكلة الإعلام الفلسطيني من خلال أكثر المشاريع الفلسطينية طموحاً في الولايات المتحدة. ولد السيد صالح في بلدة البيرة (رام الله)، لأسرة لاجئة من قرية سَلَمَة الواقعة في قضاء مدينة يافا الفلسطينية. أتى إلى الولايات المتحدة في عام ١٩٦٩ لإكمال دراسته الثانوية ومتابعة التعليم العالي. وقد اعتمد المتحف عدداً من المبادرات الاستراتيجية الهادفة إلى إنشاء معارض منسقة تتمحور حول إبراز أسلوب الحياة الفلسطيني من القرن التاسع عشر حتى يومنا هذا في جميع أنحاء فلسطين والمهجر. وأكد السيد صالح أن المتحف هو عبارة عن منظمة مستقلة، غير سياسية، غير دينية وغير ربحية تأسست في ولاية كونيتيكت ويشرف عليها مجلس إدارة أولي يضم أعضاءً من الجالية الفلسطينية من جميع مناحي الحياة، بمن فيهم رجال أعمال وأطباء وعلماء ومحامون وباحثون أكاديميون. وقال السيد صالح الذي يشغل منصب رئيس مجلس الإدارة والمدير التنفيذي للمتحف: "نحن بصدد توسيع مجلس الإدارة لتحقيق المزيد من التنوع الجغرافي والمهني."  يمول السيد صالح مرحلة بدء تشغيل وتطوير المتحف لكنه يأمل أن ينضم إليه رجال أعمال فلسطينيون آخرون كداعمين ومؤسسين.
